ECC Fundraiser

We need your help!

We are raising funds to help us run our existing programmes and develop new ones so we can be there for any carer who needs individual or collective advocacy. Your pledges and donations will help us to continue to stand side-by-side with carers to help overcome barriers they face and to continue the care they provide.

We are a local Edinburgh charity that provides free, confidential, and independent advocacy for carers supporting someone with mental illness, eating disorders, dementia, autism or learning disabilities.

Everything we do is informed by and led by carers.

We provide the only local independent advocacy for the estimated 69,000 unpaid carers in Edinburgh.

We have been running since 1998. Unfortunately, in our 25th year, our funding from Edinburgh Council has ended. We are launching several fundraising activities and we would love for you to get involved to support carers in your local area.

Carers provide unpaid care by looking after an ill, older or disabled family member, friend or partner. It could be a few hours a week or round the clock. As advocates we stand by the side of carers to deal with an injustice or address concerns about a particular issue.

Did you know?

  • 3 in 5 of us will become carers in our lifetime.
  • 2 in 5 carers are forced to give up work altogether due to significant demands.
  • 8 out of 10 carers have felt lonely or socially isolated due to their caring role.

25 years ago, our founders – a group of local carers - set out to provide support for their peers and their communities.

We've already provided over 21,000 hours of advocacy service to more than 715 carers.

We need your help to continue empowering carers!

Your pledges and donations will help us continue to stand side-by-side with carers to help overcome barriers they face to continue the care they provide.

Thank you for your support!
